Welcome to the Internet home of the Ponies! Our K-4 school in northern Arizona’s Navajo country is a great place to live and learn. Located in Kayenta, Arizona, we've come a long way from our one-room school-house in 1940 near the Kayenta Trading Post with only 26 students! Today you can wander our campus, one of four campuses in the Kayenta Unified School District, and hear over 350 happy children and 40 enthusiastic teachers, administrators, and staff members.
Our mission is to help each child reach his/her full potential by building a well established foundation of basic skills through literacy. We will accomplish this through:

I am grateful for the students who come to our campus each day eager to learn, their parents who desire and help them receive the best education they can, and our staff members whose top priority is educating our students. KES is a great place to be! Feel free to visit our campus and listen to the fun and learning that goes on within our walls. Our Ponies are eagerly involved in reading, writing, and learning math facts, and they do it with huge smiles on their faces and determination in their hearts.
